Worked fine for me :)
Okay between me and a friend we have about 500 pounds of man on a heavy duty frame (on casters) that sits on 3 inch chunks of it. We figured that 8" would let my 5ft 2" girl climb stairs, but it shouldn't compromise structural integrity. Anyway, we had NO problems with it. No problems with rolling and sliding, no problems with breakage or cracks, in general we are very satisfied :)
