I got them with the intention of making them into snowshoes. You are great for my kids. They are durable and easy to put on. Hand wash outside, dry well. I wouldn't say they are "waterproof". If you're looking for something specifically for the rain, I wouldn't go for them. My children stamped in the puddles and their feet seemed to get wet. They spent about an hour in the puddles. It just depends what you are looking for. I love how durable they are and how well they fit my kids. The size of a toddler for toddlers seemed odd, but oh well. I think for $35 they are good boots! But definitely not 100% waterproof.
