It took me a bit more reach (longer screw) to squeeze it more than it could but it did the job. I used a long head and a magnetic stick to knock the valve seals out and use them to push them back in. The ring is reversible (just unscrew it) which gave me a little more wiggle room to work with. Update * August 2021 The actual compression ring spring was bursting at the seams. They weren't welded properly.
