[UPDATE]: A few hours after I sent this message, the seller got back to me saying I must have faulty sensors, apologized and offered to send a new set . I hope this clears up my problem. I will update this again once I have received and tested the new sensors. [Original Review]: I really didn't want to post a negative review without giving the seller a chance to even fix the issues, but I don't see how. Contact the seller, so here. I bought this to prepare for the 4th of July rib roast. I ordered and received the device on July 3rd - nice! I chose this unit based on the many reviews, mostly great, particularly regarding temperature accuracy, and the company's position (stated multiple times) that any issues will be fixed. I thought it would be nice to support a young company. I hope they reply and I can update this review. My device did not meet my expectations for accuracy. The first thing I noticed was a 100 degree difference between this thermometer and the grill's built-in thermometer, with this thermometer being lower. Built-in thermometers are notoriously inaccurate, so that didn't bother me. First. But as the ribs sat and sat and sat and showed no sign of readiness, I began to wonder. I took an oven thermometer from the kitchen and placed it on the warming rack. It showed about 50 degrees higher than this probe. Still not sure who was right, I tried sticking this probe into the kitchen oven. When the temperature in the oven reached 350Β°C, this gauge read about 300Β°. After a while it showed 350Β°. Then it rose further to 400Β°. Then she began to rise and fall. it never stabilized at any temperature. A few days later I tried again on the grill. No matter how hot I ran the grill, the thermometer never rose above 350. I wish there was a better way to check the calibration. But everything I've tried so far indicates that the temperature isn't stable on this device. I should note that I measure the ambient temperature with the small metal bracket that comes with the device. Perhaps the sensors will provide a more accurate temperature when injected into the meat, but I haven't tried that. The app can be used on my iPhone but needs improvement. I liked that I can create my own settings. An alarm clock would be useful if the temperature was accurate; However, it would be nice if it could detect quick falls (like opening the lid) and not beep - it's quite annoying to hear beeps every time you lift the lid.
