Before buying, look at the photo from the reviews - the picture differs slightly from the manufacturer's photo (fortunately I liked it). As another user said, it "smelt like a bad smell" but after washing it goes away. If you're looking for a big, fluffy blanket, this isn't for you. Personally, I sleep very warm and was looking for a lightweight bed linen to replace my old one that was falling apart. It's a bit heavy for me to qualify as "light" so I'd call it more of an average weight. The pattern is beautiful and the quality is perfect, especially for the price. Must buy if that's what you're looking for.
