This KVM seems like good value for money. Here are some details I wanted to share as I wasn't sure at the time of purchase and not many people mention them: - Supports EDID emulation. That means when you switch to one device, the other devices think the display is still connected to them, so they behave just fine, rather than moving windows around like you've unplugged the external monitor. HDCP is supported according to nVidia Control Panel. -USB2.0. It is in order. I don't think there are many use cases for USB 3.0 on KVM. I don't think storage devices should be used on KVM, and you don't need to switch NICs between computers, you just connect all computers to the network with a regular ethernet switch. The supplied cables have an HDMI connector. and parts of the USB stick together. That's good because he keeps everything in order. You can also separate the cables as much as needed. Now I want to buy 2 extra cables. - LEDs are blue. Very nimble, you know the kind. - Runs very cool. Consumes less than 5 watts. The device is a bit ugly, but hey, there's also a desktop version that's a little prettier (it comes in red, black, or blue). I mount it under my desk, so I wanted this version with the screw holes - Detect the "Online" LEDs when the USB cable is connected from the computer to the KVM, not the display cable - The power supply does not take up additional space, if your power strip is traditionally oriented (e.g. ======), a big plus. - The remote doesn't have much range, but you never have to press a button twice. What I don't like about coin-operated remotes is that you seem to have to press the buttons multiple times for them to do anything. It has better buttons so it works reliably when the remote is within reach (it's not as powerful as a TV). If the KVM is bolted under your desk, you need to point the remote control under the desk. If you are having black/green screen issues after switching to a device and back, try a different output or converter combination (see M720 mouse - hotkeys work with this setting (you can use the scroll press button twice and then press Page Up/Page Down or 1, 2, 3 or 4 to select inputs) - Hotkeys only work with the top row of numbers, not the numeric keypad I think this applies to all keyboards - Logitech software (Logitech Options) does not recognize your mouse and keyboard as Logitech when connected to the KVM mouse and keyboard USB ports This is because KVM connects directly to them, emulates a virtual mouse and keyboard and presenting it to the computer If you want Logitech Options or similar to work, the software works, you need to plug the mouse into the third USB port, the device port close, connect. Hotkeys do not work on this third port. --- COMPATIBILITY IN IDEO --- I found a compatibility issue with a Dell WD19 Dock and Apple devices. Both have a workaround, please read below. - 2020 M1 MacBook Air -> Dell Dock WD19 HDMI Out -> TE Smart 4x1 KVM -> LG Ultrafine 25UM58 (resolution 2560x1080) --->>> DOES NOT WORK, the display goes black after switching from this source to another source or dark green and return to that source. You need to disconnect and reconnect. - 2020 iPad Pro 12.9" -> Dell Dock WD19 HDMI Output -> TE Smart 4x1 KVM -> LG Ultrafine 25UM58 (resolution 2560x1080) --->>> DOES NOT WORK, the display goes black or dark green another source and back to that source you need to disconnect and reconnect - This incompatibility MAY SOLVE if you use other Dell WD19 outputs I have tested this chain and it works: - 2020 iPad Pro 12.9 " -> Dell Dock WD19 USB-C DP Output -> Apple USB-C Multiport Digital AV Adapter -> TE Smart 4x1 KVM -> LG Ultrafine 25UM58 --->> > WORKS - should also work on the M1 MacBook, but I haven't tested it; The computer was borrowed. - Other adapters may also work. I think the WD19 has an internal HDMI adapter that doesn't like KVM for some reason. There appears to be a timing/sync issue as the display shows multicolored noise or static and then goes black. In any case, this setup is for one screen output, so you don't lose anything by using the adapter on a different port. I tested them and they worked and continued to work after toggling: - Dell Latitude 5300 -> Dell Dock WD19. HDMI output -> TE Smart 4x1 KVM -> LG Ultrafine 25UM58 - PC with native HDMI output RTX 2060 -> TE Smart 4x1KVM -> LG Ultrafine 25UM58 - PC with CableCreations DisplayLink USB to HDMI adapter -> TE Smart 4x1KVM -> LG Ultrafine 25UM58 - 2020 MacBook Air M1 -> Apple USB-C Multiport Digital AV Adapter -> TE Smart 4x1KVM -> LG Ultrafine 25UM58 - 2020 iPad Pro 12.9" -> Apple USB-C Multiport Digital AV Adapter -> TE Smart 4x1 KVM -> LG Ultrafine 25UM58 - 2014 MacBook Air -> Mini DisplayPort to HDMI universal adapter -> TE Smart 4x1 KVM -> LG Ultrafine 25UM58 - 2020 M1 Mac Mini via native HDMI -> TE Smart 4x1 KVM -> LG Ultrafine 25UM58 - -- AUDIO -- - The 3.5mm audio output works as follows: it intercepts the signal from the selected HDMI input and outputs audio for the selected input, not sure if the monitor is also receiving a signal .The sound quality is better than my monitor and better than my Raspberry Pi 3B.There is no hissing or hissing at the exit, which is very good. I don't usually expect this type of product to sound good. Please note that Apple devices cannot adjust HDMI volume for some reason. But it's Apple's fault. Very frustrating. I will add more devices as I test them (Raspberry Pi 3B, Raspberry Pi 1B, universal DisplayPort adapter to WD19 dock instead of the Apple USB C adapter, etc.). I can't test HDR support. To be honest I'm glad I found a workaround for the Apple + WD19 incompatibility because this KVM is very very good and that would be a deal breaker. I don't think it's because of KVM as it worked with everything else so I'm giving it 5 stars.
