Unacceptable Car Retrofit

This is a review of "BANVIE Car Burglar Alarm System with Microwave Sensor and Shock Sensor". Removed one star for invalid auto-restart "function". If you deactivate the system with the remote control, it will switch itself back on automatically after 25 seconds if no doors are opened or the ignition is switched on. This may be an optional feature, but the default ON is not appropriate and the option to disable is not allowed. When I press "unlock" on the remote, the system should remain unlocked until I press "lock" on the remote, NOT re-arm. I found a workaround of sorts: I added a switch to the dash to switch the ACC signal (white wire) to battery voltage, disarming the system but still allowing remote locking and unlocking of the doors. The system works as advertised for all tested functions. As mentioned in other reviews, the problem with installation is primarily finding and connecting to the appropriate vehicle cables. Including considerations for running cables through the firewall between the engine compartment and the passenger compartment. Suggest making sure you can find and connect the required cables before ordering the device. My setup was for a car with optional door lock actuators "Universal Power Door Lock Actuators” https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CZBQCR2/ Let's look at how the wires are physically routed from the door to the interior of the car . The appropriate wiring for this type is "Positive and Negative Actuation" as indicated on the attached installation diagrams. Other options are available for vehicles with factory door lock actuators. I attached the included shock sensor to the dash metal frame with a single screw. At maximum sensitivity, it is extremely sensitive and will respond to small, harsh sounds from outside the vehicle. Sensitivity can be easily adjusted according to the environment. I set the microwave sensor to maximum sensitivity and centered it in the front console area. It activates when a person enters the car, and not for people outside the car. The siren is not very loud and makes quite a loud noise when mounted face down in the engine compartment. The output tones are various communication chirps as well as multi-mode tone variations when an alarm is triggered. - Remote controls feel good and activate the system at a considerable distance. When arming with the "Silent" button, disarming is also silent. Otherwise arming/disarming is indicated by an acoustic signal. The trunk open button can be used for any function you connect this output (red/black wire) to.

Pros
  • Universal car model wire connection design.
Cons
  • Damaged
