The case fits the keyboard snugly and will not fall off when the screen is flipped over to use as a tablet. To test the fit, I turned the Chromebook completely upside down and shook it fairly vigorously to keep the lid from falling off. You definitely don't have to worry about it coming off during normal use or while manipulating the screen. The Chromebook keyboard is facing down. When typing, the lid feels nice and rubbery. It was a bit strange at first, but now that I've gotten used to it, it's nice. I received a black one which doesn't look quite like the photo as the photo has a slight bluish cast to it. This cover has solid black buttons with clear details. It looks great and you probably wouldn't be able to tell that it wasn't part of the original device if you didn't know better. UPDATE 07/08/2018. it's been a year now, and at some point it's stretched enough from normal use that it no longer snags on the keys when the Chromebook is turned upside down. However, it's not cracked or scratched at all and still looks as good as the day I got it, but it doesn't stay on the cbook in tablet mode.
