I love this iron so much I ordered a new one after the first one broke after dropping it had left and the plate was broken. I've dropped it many times. This was probably the sixth time I've dropped it and it landed on thin carpet and one of the panels broke. It worked really well on my hair and was very easy to use. It heats up quickly and makes my hair shine. It never stuck to my hair and my hair never got caught on it which happened all the time my old straighteners broke my hair and I even had to cut my hair to loosen it on one of my old straighteners. . so I didn't have these problems. this is a good iron. just don't throw it over and over like everything else
