I have 8 Seagate 500GB thin drives, a pair of Crucial 512GB SSDs, an Intel 120GB SSD and a SanDisk 120GB SSD with no problems at this time. However, when I install Kingston Hyper-X 120GB SSDs in a bay, that bay lights up with a purple drive LED like the drive is constantly being accessed, even before POST is complete. The drives appear to be working fine, but any VMs loaded onto the Kingston Hyper-X drives are slowly degrading as corrupted data is written to the drive through this bay. The same drives seem to work fine when plugged directly into the Intel host's SATA ports. A strange issue and I suspect it is specific to the SSDs mentioned in combination with this drive bay. What to consider when testing. Drive bays should not be solid purple unless the drive in the bay is actually being accessed. In any case, testing will continue.
