HP W2408 LCD Monitor

The HPw2408 LCD monitor is a great monitor. Problems with the purchase began in local stores. All had brightness and contrast values of 100%. The auto level automatically adjusts to 30% on both and that's the difference between day and night. The seller also said it has no speakers. Again, this is not true. The two speakers are each rated at 2W, compared to a Princeton 19 monitor with 1W speakers each. The HP W2408 speakers are characterized by good sound quality. More than loud enough. I bought the Bose Companion 5 $399 surround sound system for other reasons. It was also nice to have 4 USB inputs on the HP. My computer has 2 in the front and 4 in the back, but having 4 more on top is handy when connecting camera memory. Can you ever have enough? 24 inches is almost too big. I used a 21.6 monitor and found that 24 is twice the size. I opened 2 IE7, Outlook and TV at all and everything displayed big. A computer monitor is not a television. 22 to 24 is the maximum size to consider. If you have to work with a lot of spreadsheets, 24 is fine. Having a new display and surround sound system is like a new computer. I have a display on my desk, centered in space. It fits better than I thought. The signs are clean and there are no problems. There were problems with some descriptions of the HP2407. The HP 2408 can rotate the display 90 degrees and the picture stays great on the sides. I will never use a monitor this way. I love this monitor and am in no rush to pay for it. $433 with a $30 Visa Revain card. I like it better than Samsung. If I could buy any of them for 299 I would buy any of them.
