I bought an old version of this collar a long time ago and it has worked great. This is a quality product and I will use this when walking my dog so he can go off leash (where allowed) and I don't have to worry about him running away or chasing people, other dogs etc e) The model will hold a charge for several days if left on all the time. I temporarily lost the remote from my old collar ($50 for a replacement) so I decided to buy the entire rig new. The new collar is smaller than the old one and seems to be more durable, especially where the charger plugs in (I once broke the old collar's charging port). I'm also surprised at how long the collar holds a charge when left on all the time - over a week! Of course I don't push many buttons and it will depend on that more than anything, but it's still very impressive. I also had the experience that the old collar with the old remote control sometimes stopped working. This has never happened to me with new ones. It is also helpful to know that the old collar and remote control are compatible with the new collar and remote control. You can only pair one remote with each collar, but it's good to know that you can use an old remote with a new collar, or a new remote with an old collar.
