Review on 13 oz Canned Dog Food ๐Ÿถ - CANIDAE Under The Sun Grain Free by Jessica Hutchinson

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Made mostly of healthy ingredients, pรขtรฉ is easy for puppies to chew and digest.

So Under the Sun is actually a Canidae product. Canidae is a good dog food company with quality products and a solid reputation so I really don't see why they are toying with a new name and logo. Mechanical marketing doesn't always reflect the actual customer base. However, this chicken puppy food is a fairly simple meal in a very soft, simple pie style. No chunks, no sauce, and no visible chunks of vegetables or meat when you spread it out. It is a gray mush that mixes with kibble and water to form a kind of paste that coats the kibble. I can appreciate how easy this is to chew and swallow for a young pup or in my case older dogs with few or weak teeth. See photo. The ingredients are mostly good, no grains, no by-products and no soy. Chicken, water, chicken liver, peas, and sweet potatoes are the top five ingredients. Alfalfa is a potential problem for some dogsโ€”it's just a cheap filler. I mix a quarter can of dry food and water for each of my dogs and they all love it. Admittedly, two aren't as keen on him as the others - preferring their usual canned Avoderm lamb. Two out of five dogs got uncomfortable flatulence when they ate this.
