I love my vacuum but the bags are expensive

I really wanted a bagged vacuum because I don't want to accidentally inhale small dust particles when emptying the tank. I don't recall standard or generic bags being that expensive. I love vacuum cleaners but had to choose a brand that uses a universal bag size.
