This replacement hose is very easy to replace. In fact, I like this hose a lot more than the one that came with my Shark. It's much more malleable, bending and stretching where it can reach great heights. It's a thinner plastic tube so I think it will puncture easily, but I don't plan on vacuuming sharp objects. It's fairly dense but not as thick as the original. It might not last as long, but it's worth it for the ease of use when the wand is off. For years I struggled with my Sharks wand because the tubing was so stiff and tight and didn't stretch easily. This is important to me because I use a stick almost every time I vacuum.
