Review on Kreg KMA3700 ACCU-Cut XL Precision Tool by Adrian Allen

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Surprisingly accurate for the price and construction at the moment.

This is exactly what I expected from a $500 chainsaw alternative. It was pretty easy to put together. So far in one project this has been very accurate, surprisingly accurate. But I see that the accuracy of the track decreases as it is saved, moved and collided over time since it is made up of 4 parts. You can take it apart for storage, but in my opinion the heads of the set screws are just the tip of a #2 Phillips head and I don't think they will hold up to many reassemblies before the headbands. If you plan on taking it apart after each use, it might be a good idea to replace them with allen heads. I had to trim the slide a bit with a dremel to remove the blade guard, but it didn't make much of a difference and didn't affect performance. This is a good attitude. If I had to list a few cons: I wish the tracks were a solid length to improve accuracy. And the sled is mostly made of light/medium plastic. I would pay more for a slide that has more aluminum. Also, the rail set screws are pretty terrible. All in all, at $160, this is good value.
