So impressed with this one I felt I had to give it a good word . - The price is correct! - High-quality materials (for chipboard) - Thoughtful and durable design - Well-marked parts and easy-to-understand instructions. I collected and bought a lot of cheap chipboard furniture. I paid more than the price of this shelf for fine drawers that are made half as well. So. I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of parts, their placement, and the nice heavy boards when I unpacked the box. Directions and schemes are pretty clear. Various parts have been marked with stickers and various small parts have been packed in small individual zipped bags. It was nice not having to struggle with guesswork or disappointing packaging. It took quite a while to assemble (you can take less time if you're more careful than me and don't screw the 3 pieces unfinished side out), but the process made me feel like I was putting a lot of weight on these shelves could lay . The sections are connected with pins, eccentric bolts/locks *and* long bolts for a very strong connection. The base is actually quite thick chipboard (not cardboard!), and it's held in place with so many nails that you'll probably have to use concentrated force to hammer it through. (No more breaking the shelf by pushing the book in too hard!) The shelf pins are metal, not plastic. The shelves have grooves for pens to keep them looking good and not slipping. I haven't used them but this shelf also comes with wall brackets as a safety measure for those with adventurous toddlers. I bought a shelf to try and save on this stupid waste of closet space that is being eaten away by our poorly designed built-in closet. I was thrilled to confirm that it fits EXACTLY perfectly!
