Review on HP Pavilion 15 Laptop 2021 - Ryzen 5 5500U, 8GB RAM, 512GB SSD, 15.6" HD Touchscreen, Windows 10 - Business, Study, Entertainment by Adithep Kampanat ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I am satisfied with the product, it is made well, the price is also pleasing.

I write ALL ADVANTAGES and DISADVANTAGES in COMPARISON with Xiaomi Mi Notebook Pro 15.6 (the very first version on i5 8250u 8gb mx150). The top model is 15-eh0022ur (Ryzen 7 4700u 16gb + 512gb). I took a promotion for ~ $ 750. I rolled up the operating system (WIndows 10 Pro) myself, having bought an activation key for ~$3 on Ali. I did not test the work in games, because. I don’t quite understand the logic of taking an ultrabook on integrated graphics for games without the possibility (according to reviews, I didn’t check it myself) to increase the available memory for Vega 7 in the BIOS from 512 MB. SHORT VERDICT: for its price - the machine is excellent, despite all the disadvantages (especially if before that there was an "average"). I recommend taking the minimum version with Ryzen 5 4500u and 8gb RAM, add 8 more and enjoy life. If you have any questions - write, I will answer as soon as possible.

Pros
  • - Weight (felt noticeably 1750 g against 1950 g on Xiaomi, - Performance (I won't even comment here), - Convenient charging (you can charge both a complete 45w block in the socket on the right, and via a type-c block with PD support, for example, 65w on the left), - Two-level backlighting of the keyboard.
Cons
  • - Creaking case (at the junction of the metal case and the lower plastic cover - not much, but a little annoying), - Plastic screen loop (xs, how long will it last), - Screen (the maximum brightness is not high and the minimum is not minimal. The screen is less juicy - it especially appears in red + the screen goes a little yellow. Yes, Xiaomi had a glossy screen, but the differences are noticeable), - Keyboard (very fuzzy and soft key travel, it reminds me of the click of "quiet" mice like Logitech Pebble) + double button "up and down + in sunlight due to the blue color of the keyboard, characters are not visible and you have to turn on the backlight. - Operating time (Mi had a 60Wh battery, here it's like 41 and it's noticeable even after 3 years of battery drawdown on Xiaomi. I didn't measure the exact time) - Small opening angle of the lid (lying with a laptop on your knees is already uncomfortable) - You can not open the type of Macbook (with one finger). You can, of course, lubricate the hinges, but this immediately voids the warranty. - A little strange Wi-Fi - sometimes it works at the limit of the modem, sometimes it's as slow as possible (all drivers are ated at the time of writing). Also, for some reason, he refused to work with the Xiaomi Amplifier 2 amplifier (it connects and immediately disconnects). - "Wadded USB-A ports (all cables and flash drives go all the way in, but dangle at the same time) - The minimum speed of the cooler is quite loud - The sound is pretty mediocre - Matte touchpad (finger slides much worse than glossy) - Consumer useless Kensington lock
