The laser itself is excellent. The line extends well beyond the advertised 16 feet and is visible in most indoor lighting conditions. However, as a wall mount, the mount is very difficult to use. The instructions say to mount it to a screw on the wall. If you place the screw at the desired height for your shelves, the line projected by the laser will be about 1/2 inch below. Also, the laser is not balanced on the screw hole. So if you use a screw, the laser will tilt down. This makes it very difficult to get the line exactly where you want it. There are small holes on the top and bottom of the bracket which are not mentioned in the instructions. They can be used with push pins to secure the mount, but it takes a little trial and error to get the line where you want it.
