Postal scale is rated for rejection

it's rated for rejection but it's an easy and quick fix which I'll tell you about. It hasn't even been a year and it's already broken. I have not abused it in any way. I use it sometimes to ship things from ebay. According to my ebay profile I've only sold 29 (light) items since I bought it and it's already broken. One day out of nowhere I wanted to weigh something and he just said 0lb 0oz. Then he just started giving me constantly changing numbers (even negative ones) while the item was still there. Don't let the American Weigh name fool you, it's made in China. Like all Chinese products they are designed to fail so you will buy more of their crappy quality. Here's the solution. Look at the consumer pictures I uploaded. The black cable comes with the defective device. The white one is the one I bought at a random (non-chain) dollar store. The white is MUCH better made (despite being made in China). You can see that the black wire has all the tiny little connections on the outside while they are deep inside the white wire. With a black cable, even the slightest movement will wear it out and the device will give you weird responses. The cord looks like a phone cord plugged into the wall - but it's not. It's something most people haven't seen in a long time, but now you can only find it in ghetto shops. The one that is smaller. You know those old corded phones? Yes, that's the cord. Check out the picture I uploaded so you can see it. It is known as a "handset" or "RJ9" cable. I recommend that you just throw away the one that came with the kit and replace it with this one. Even though it works after this fix and I see it working for some time in the future, I'm still only giving it one star because greedy companies that have products that are intentionally designed to fail don't deserve to be in business be. Who knows how many people have been tricked into just buying another whole device because a cable failed on purpose?
