I was looking for a muffler that could replace the resonator and remove the large tank at the rear. I tried many different systems and they were all too loud with a bad drone. I just wanted to get rid of the big can and not sound like a hot rod. That was it. I had a strong hum on startup and it gets softer at idle. I can barely hear the exhaust in a Jeep with the windows open or down. If you're looking for something that sounds rough and loud for your Jeep, look elsewhere. If you're like me and want something that doesn't drive you crazy when driving or riding four wheels, this is for you! It's nowhere near as quiet as a stock muffler, but it's nowhere near as powerful as any of the straight-through mufflers. It's also cheap for the price and fairly easy to replace if damaged. I like the sound and it's not loud even going uphill. The sound of the 3.6L is deeper rather than shrill like many foreign cars make when growling down the road.
