This is a sturdy mount. The only weak point is the tongue, which actually hooks onto the radar detector itself. I'm sure the mount will remain perfectly still with careful flexing. The length was about 1-2 feet longer than the straight cord from the Cobra cigarette lighter I had, so it was almost the perfect length for going behind the dash, up the pillar, and through the headliner. The cable is so-so. Mine was damaged by a positive wire pulled from a makeshift fuse holder, but I cut that part off anyway for my particular mounting situation. The only downside with this is more of a problem with my car, it has a small windshield to begin with, so the radar detector under the mirror is a little in the way. blind spot, I'm sure with an articulated arm I could even place it over a mirror. I'd recommend it to anyone who needs to remove this detector from their suction cup mount (illegal in some areas just because it's attached to the windshield/block view), not to mention making it a little less visible to passing thieves.
