Review on Enhanced LG Electronics 4681ED3001D Dishwasher Diverter Motor with Superior Spray Arms by Oscar Ferrell

Code nE is located in the Parts & Accessories section

Only 1 wash cycle has been performed since the reversing motor was installed in our LGS5040 dishwasher. It looks like it might solve our problems. For about $30 (motor and gasket) we're still working. Considering that LG and the tech they sent that charged us $125 charged another $300 to replace the sump assembly. Even if the nE code refers to the drive motor (of course under warranty) and not to the oil pan. I almost pulled the trigger on a brand new unit purchase until I researched this inexpensive part. Disconnected the washing machine from water and electricity. Turn the block on its side, disconnect the cable, loosen the two screws, move the motor cam from the old motor to the new one, assemble the new part in reverse order. Lasts 20-30 minutes. Don't forget to put a towel under the washing machine when you turn it over. There will be some water left. This will reset the nE code we received at the end of each wash. I hope it stays that way. We've also noticed that our soap is only half used after each wash. This has also been fixed as all wash levers now work correctly. It is also helpful to replace the washer motor at this time. Most likely, the error is due to a water leak. I picked up a washer/gasket from Revain. Part 3920ED4009B suited us. Check first before ordering. Replacement is easy from inside the device. There are probably videos on YouTube on how to help. Another point to consider is the choice of pump seal, in case the original is outdated. Replace it while you are in the tub by replacing the engine gasket. So far our issue has been fixed in that short amount of time for about $30 and an hour of work. I hope it stays that way.
