Your brain needs time to get used to the new look

I have a 2016 Honda Civic. It was easy to attach to an existing one and easy to remove. You can add and remove it at traffic lights in seconds. There's less room to see through the windshield, but it doesn't affect visibility. Objects in the mirror are smaller than they appear. As usual, I look in the rear-view mirror while driving. When I mounted the new mirror, I had to pause for a second to get used to the new look. It took my brain about a couple of weeks to get used to the new look for a quick scan. This is very helpful to see my blind spots. Since I have a camera on the passenger side, I rely on keeping an eye on the driver's side blind spot. You'll notice that the photo I've added shows the view through the rear windows on the right and left. I tried resizing to show the changes, but both shots were taken from different angles. I find it useful to keep an eye on freeway traffic while driving. I haven't had any nighttime experiences with a mirror, so I can't comment on glare or visibility. I use it cautiously to estimate speed when changing lanes. Didn't use it long enough to get used to it as I had to work from home.
