Simple Deluxe 290 GPH is a reliable and quiet pump. It is versatile and can be either submerged or operated with inlet/outlet connections, which is not the case with most other pumps. The only disadvantage is that the rated power must be designed for no-load operation. I use this pump to circulate chilled water through a 50 foot wort chiller coil with a 2 foot stroke. Overall performance in this application is around 40 GPH, which is a far cry from the nominal 290 GPH. I just ordered the largest Simple Deluxe 1065 pump to hopefully reduce wort chilling time with 3x the power.
