Item in good condition - no instructions

KVM switch, which only has a VGA output and my new monitor. When I received the package I opened it to find the cable. Period. I connected everything but there was no video on my monitor. I turned the computer off and on again. Still not good. After that I decided to connect the USB portion of the cable to the KVM. Bingo! I had a video! It turns out that the USB needs to power the adapter cable for it to work. Simple instructions in the packaging would be nice! Now that everything is connected I am very happy with the cable. I have a resolution of 1600x900 and everything is clear.
