I am very impressed with this 10 x 10mm aluminum T-slot set. It's very versatile and relatively easy to use. It takes a bit of fiddling to get the hang of it. However, this is to be expected when working with beams and bolts of this small size. It has nothing to say against MakerBeam, it just takes some getting used to. I've already made 2 things in a week or so with more bars to save for other projects. I've added pictures of the solder/wire stand. I also made a slitter for film and photo paper. A few things I can use in MakerBeam are things that should actually be in the starter kit. I've posted links to articles that a new user should definitely get their hands on, but again, they really should have been included here. Makeerbeam M3 Square Head Screws, 12mm 100pcs and 25mm 25pcs Makeerbeam Openbeam T-Bracket (pack of 12) MakerBeam Straight Brackets (pack of 12) MakerBeam 25 Black (8 pcs) Also the case is cute but not very practical . Once you've used all the beams, you'll need a Tetris degree to get close to her again. I'm pretty good at Tetris, but I couldn't, so it all came in a plastic box. A much better way of storing it if you ask me. A few things to note: The ends of the beams are a bit sharp. They look a little polished, but not enough to remove the sharp edges. They really should have included vinyl end caps or corner cubes. It's a small thing, but it would be nice. The ends of the beams are threaded, which is great. But there's no real way to get them to align. Check out the solder/wire holder picks. None of the horizontal arms can be aligned with the vertical ones. This is a better place to mount things, but not very useful if you need to align the joists. I didn't do it so it's not a problem. They also do not include a 3mm allen key. However, if you buy sliding nuts or a bearing kit, these are included. MakerBeam Bearings, Bolts, and (Captive) Nuts (10-pack) are a pretty handy way to add rolling motion to your beams. It works very well and I am happy with it in my rotary cutter design. Another thing to note is that MakerBeam offers the beams separately here on Revain. pretty neat! I can think of several projects that could use beams of this size. Also, the price for these is pretty good. In general I am very satisfied with the purchase. Although the kit is quite expensive, I can't think of any other way to do what I need without it.
