I took the cap to NAPA, they confirmed it should fit, went out and checked the truck, many companies have a compatibility problem. My cap is much wider and I ordered a different model. The date will be updated when I receive the 06 Ford F-150. To update! The correct part number is Dorman #80991. I will post a picture of the correct cap, not the one listed. The problem is in many reference books, but what I've listed matches the years.
