This remote control is exactly the same as the original RC73 remote control that you received when you subscribed to Direct TV. I had a hard time deciding on a star rating because although you get the exact same remote, the remote you are replacing is awful and starts to rattle and show signs of imminent death almost as soon as it comes out. out of the box and there's no reason to think this one will be any better. However as this is a replacement and therefore I assume you know what you are getting I have given it four stars. It won't last as long as if you bought remotes from a competing satellite TV service, but when you compare the cost of replacing your remotes, your costs will still be cheaper with direct TV remotes.
