Look no further if you decide to buy Baofeng

. I already had a UV5R-+ when I decided to buy this powerful kit. And it won't disappoint you. It comes with everything shown and I got mine for just $49 and free shipping from Revain. Two batteries, standard size bracelet, another collar, standard and longer antenna, charger, data cable (yes it works), useless programming disk (throw away, just download CHIRP). from the Internet), good instructions, a nice box in which everything is stored. Honestly, that's stealing. If you don't already have one of these radios and plan on getting TWO of them, buy two of them. A stripped down version of the UV5R with an 1800 battery costs $30 anyway. So if you bought a stripped down model and then bought this model too, you would have spent $79. Why do that when you can get two powerful radios with all the goodies for about $20 more? Radio is illegal. It's yes and no. You have three transmit power settings: 2/4/8W. Eight watts above the FCC rating. But you do NOT have to set the transmission to eight watts either. The reality is that the FCC doesn't really care about a few extra watts. What they REALLY care about is whether you start transmitting on the unlicensed ham radio bands or the VHF band or the NOAA weather bands. Follow the license rules, be polite, and you'll be fine. While studying for an amateur radio license, you can still transmit and receive on 22 FRS (Family Radio Service) frequencies, which is what this radio does. And you can still listen to ham, NOAA, and VHF radio. The FCC allows you to transmit on the ham radio band in an emergency, but it's better if it's a REAL emergency.
