I bought a radio with a DIN slot but couldn't find instructions on how to fit it into a DIN slot. Everything I found was generic and vague so I never really understood what was keeping the radio from falling into the dash. The answer was this! Use a trim ring with the outer dimensions closest to your needs. To mount the dashboard, I cut the plastic with a hacksaw. You don't need a Dremel or Rotozip or anything. I held it securely in a vise with two pieces of steel to clamp it between them, which provided a straight guide for the saw and also kept the plastic from breaking. Then it had to be sanded a bit to make it perfect.
