So I bought this for my cats to get outside time but since I live in an area with foxes, bob cats and a recent bear sighting I worry about them. The space is very large for them to play around and have room to climb. However if you are using this for chickens I will say the wire is very thin and that the door isn't sound enough to keep determined animals out. It's easy to push the door open with enough force (which isn't much) the last one I bought was smaller and eventually collapsed in on one side of the roof because of the rain collecting in the tarp cover. The covers do leak so it's not the best for keeping the animals dry. Overall it's not bad easy to assemble with a little help. But I wouldn't use it for prolonged periods if you plan to keep your chickens safe
