Tried to find a good entryway monitor. After a few others who had problems with connection loss and poor motion detection. This is very easy to connect, it can even be set up with multiple receivers so I can see/hear it in multiple places for maximum convenience. Can't say anything about batteries yet as it's new to me. In a few months I will try to remember and update this review. Basically, I think it's good to know the following before buying. First, it's not as good as a system with a beam that warns you when it's broken. This will have more false alarms than a good perimeter alarm, as I just mentioned, and will trigger wilder more often too. However, this is much more accessible, it's just a matter of how you want to do it. Second, you can program 8 sensors on the base station, they also have window or door sensors that work, not just a driveway sensor. I have a mix of both. You can also get a second, third, etc. base and connect sensors to it. This is a huge plus for me as I can have them where I sit most of the time so I don't have to mess with batteries or lose them or always leave them where I was last and I have to they don't pick up and back. That. The star I didn't give out of five really costs me half a star but that's not an option. I left it because of the noise. While that's a plus, there are 35 different sounds, but I really don't like most of them. It's a really bad speaker that doesn't help. There are, I think, 8 volume levels, which again is a plus, but it has tones reminiscent of 80's doorbells and old cheesy Nokia-style tunes. In my opinion, a few slightly louder warning tones would really improve the situation. The little songs are good and all, but I don't want them played that often. A few single beeps that we can easily distinguish from one another would be useful for door sensors, most tones are too long for this purpose if the door is used very rarely. It has a clock and an alarm, which is a nice extra that makes the box more useful. The flashing numbers are well spaced and you can easily tell which zone is detecting motion. The watch will temporarily display the channel number after the motion alarm. Other than that, they seem to work just as well as advertised. I think it takes a little more investment if you want something better than it looks. I would recommend this product without hesitation.
