Review on PetSafe Happy Ride Steel Dog Bike Trailer: Secure, Convenient and Spacious - Ideal for Medium and Large Sized Pets by Becky Haferkamp

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Rides smoothly, fits two medium-sized dogs, used with our electric bikes

Our big houndabout was delivered yesterday. Installation was fairly easy: fold in the frame side arms, bolt on the cross member brace, fit the hitch and wheel mounts, inflate the tires and snap the wheels in place. First we spent time without wheels to get our corgis used to walking in the trailer. We used treats to get them in the trailer. When they were comfortable I assembled the bikes and took them outside to hook up to my Elby e-bike. It is very easy to connect the hitch to the included hitch that I installed on the bike. I also bought a second hitch for my wife's bike. We put the dogs in, attached the leashes to their harnesses and off we went. At first we had the sunroof open but the younger dog tried to get out. They closed the sunroof and opened the windshield but left the zipper on the windshield and both quickly sat down and seemed to enjoy the drive. I'm sure once they get used to driving in a trailer we can open the sunroof so they can enjoy the air and the view. The trailer drove very smoothly and felt stable. I felt some extra resistance on the bike, but it wasn't too bad. It was great fun walking with them. The trailer size is good for two dogs and doesn't feel crowded. We plan to take the trailer with us when we go on holiday with our 5th bike with dog and e-bike. I like how it folds up for easy transport and storage. Happy with the purchase of the dog.

Pros
  • EASY CONNECTION: The hitch quickly connects to your bike; At the end of your adventure with your best friend, simply release the hitch and fold the trailer to store away.
