This is my first experience with shaving soap so I have no comparison. Also, I'm new to the DE process to keep this in mind, but thought I'd give my opinion anyway. 1) The foam is thick and thick. I love it. It was easy to pick up enough head with my brush and the next day I picked up the legs (I'm a triathlete). I don't seem to have used them much so this should be a durable bar. 2) The shave on the head, below the neck and on the legs was comfortable and smooth. Very good. Especially under my neck it was extraordinary. My head shave was also very good, not an easy task with a sensitive scalp. 3) The only thing I give this soap is the smell. Nice scent but I can hardly smell it. From what I've seen from reviews and videos of other similarly priced soaps, it should work just as well and fill my bathroom with a lovely scent. If you are looking for a light scent, this soap is perfect. But for the price, you could probably find better scents and better soaps.
