Review on Enjoy Gaming on the Go with Trio Portable Monitor Displays for Nintendo by Chris Elder

Works well for one purpose only

First, it mostly works as intended. Attach it to the back of your laptop and turn it into a 2 or 3 screen setup (requires 2 trios). Plug and play with USB-C or USB-A (driver required). Auto-rotation is a nice touch, so you don't have to change it manually in the operating system settings. Explain clearly what you cannot expect from this product. If you use it as a regular portable monitor, you will be disappointed. One of the main reasons is that it cannot stand alone in landscape mode. They sell a stand but it doesn't look like it will stand at all. (I'll find 2 tablet stands for this purpose) There's another caveat to using it with the Switch: the trio doesn't have speakers, so there's no sound. The only solution is to plug a pair of headphones or speakers into the Switch's 3.5 headphone jack. Magnets Magnets can generally hold the trio to a laptop, but only when laid flat. Don't try to move them as the trio will likely fall over, especially in a 3 screen configuration. It's possible to flip out the screens when they're attached, as in the promotional video, but I find it much easier to do this by detaching the setup from the laptop, pulling out the screens, and snapping them back into place. Portability So far I've only used the Trio at home. I don't feel like taking them out as they are almost twice the thickness and heavier than my laptop. I understand they choose plastic to make it lighter, but it just feels less durable than other (cheaper) portable monitors with a metal body. Build Quality The screen looks good and the colors look sharp. While both trios I've received are flawless, the hinge on one is noticeably firmer than the other. There are other minor inconveniences such as tangled cords and difficulty removing clips. That. It's not perfect, but it gets the job done.
