Useful lighting solution for LED sewing machines

I have a Janome 3160 QDC sewing machine and like many others I found the machine's built-in lighting to be very dim and unable to illuminate the work area well. I chose the Inspired LED Sewing Machine LED Light Kit based on good reviews from others. The kit includes the following: - LED strip with 36 LEDs; The strip can be cut into sections in multiples of 3 LEDs per section. At one end of the strip is a short cable with a male connector on the end and at the other end of the strip is a female connector that allows you to add additional LED strips to increase the length. On the back of the strip is a peelable paper backing that shows the adhesive where the strip attaches to the sewing machine. - "Wall wart." AC power adapter, 110-240 VAC input, 12 VDC output capable of supplying up to 1A. The power supply is labeled as an LED power supply and I don't know if there's really anything special about it, or maybe a suitably wattage 12VDC power supply can work with the LED strip. Most buyers of this kit needn't worry as the package is enough: A power switch with two sockets, one for the plug on the power cord and the other for the plug on the cord of the LED strip. The switch features two adhesive-backed foam pads that allow you to attach the switch to almost any surface. - two (2) clips for attaching the cord(s) to the sewing machine, each clip has an adhesive backed foam pad. Please note that although the LED strip comes with a power cord on one end and a power outlet on the other end, it is actually not a "This is because the strip covers the area where the filament is fed through the holes cannot cover and/or slits in the body of the machine, and on my machine at least there were some areas above the needle area that were wide enough to mount an LED, strip beforehand, I ended up with a strip of 6 LEDs routed back to front near the right end of the bridge, then a second strip of 9 LEDs along the underside of the front of the bridge, then a third strip of 6 LEDs to the rear. Bridge next to the head, and finally a fourth strip of 9 LEDs along the back of the bottom edge of the head, behind the needle area. I still had the 6 LED strip piece left and unused. The included instructions do not mention using multiple shorter sections of LED strip. They only mention cutting the led strip to a length suitable for the car. To use multiple shorter sections of ribbon like I did you will need a soldering iron, tin-lead solder and a small solid wire that you can use to connect one section of ribbon to another and thus power all sections. If you're not willing to do something like this, you have fewer options when it comes to more complex lighting schemes. The LEDs are fairly bright, however, and even a single strip of maybe a dozen LEDs placed on the same straight section will help illuminate a typical sewing machine. The LED strip is mostly white, with tiny black resistors and yellow LEDs. (but the light they emit is white, not yellow). From a distance, the stripes appear completely white. Since most modern cars appear white, the LED strips shouldn't be too obtrusive. Please note that while LED strips are flexible, they are actually somewhat rigid and can only flex where the components (LEDs and resistors) are attached to the strip. You must carefully position the strip(s) so that the most flexible areas are where where the strip needs to be bent the most on the machine. I found the included power button to be quite large, really too big to fit neatly on most machines I envision. I was able to install the switch on my machine at the bottom right end next to the machine's power switch. But the LED power wire and LED strip wire will be exposed, which is pretty ugly. Overall I am satisfied with my LED lighting set. I think it could be improved by separating short sections that are already connected by short flexible cables.
