After washing the mug thoroughly, the lid fits and can be used for the rest of the day. The lid simply falls off when touched and does not want to close. I ended up removing the o-ring to try and make it better. It seemed to help some, but the lid still comes off without unscrewing it! Sometimes occurs when trying to tighten. Some days it doesn't pull at all. The heat seems to expand and help tighten the lid tighter than cold liquids. I love the look and color of the mug, but I'm aiming for a mug with a lid so I can drink coffee on my commute. Sometimes it's not nice.
