1. Functionally, I think it works as intended. He holds our door open with good power. One thing I didn't consider before buying is the noise it makes when trying to get rid of the magnetism. I use it for the bathroom door because the door frame is clearly not vertical and the door practically closes on its own. I like to leave the door and window open when not in use. When it's late at night and I'm using the bathroom, it makes a loud noise when I unlatch the door. There's no way to do this quietly and inevitably wakes up the rest of the house. It would be nice to install some spacers to reduce the holding power of the magnet.2. Both of the door latches I received had concave mounting plates, so the mounting plate doesn't lie flat against the door. I tapped the panel to smooth it out (it worked for one of the door latches). But another doorknob broke when I tried to straighten it. I lost part of the assembly because it rolled away in my garage. Now the second doorknob is unusable. I was a little surprised and disappointed by what happened with this product and the need to align the mounting plate in the first place. Basically I am satisfied with the product. It looks good and is easy to install (after flattening the panel), but the quality of the attachment needs some improvement. Some sticky pads to soften the magnetic hold would also be an improvement.
