Review on πŸ’‘ Dimmable Recessed INCARLED Lighting Junction by Jessie Zdunich

Easy installation, bright flat output

I've installed fixtures like this before so I knew what to expect when they arrived. What I wasn't aware of was the attention to detail that went into the design of these particular devices. Basically, the installer needs to cut a hole in the ceiling (a template is included) and run the wiring to a work box that attaches to the fixture. The work box has connectors on each of the wires for easy installation. Wire nuts are not required. The work box is then placed in the ceiling area and the spring clips attached to the side of the light must be pressed in and inserted into the ceiling area. Once released, the clips hold the light fixture firmly to the ceiling. Note that the force of the spring clips can damage the drywall if you later need to remove the bracket. The lamp completely closes the hole in the ceiling. The light output of these panels is excellent. This is a 5000k or "daylight" output and they give the right shade. The light output is bright, more than a typical 65 watt bulb that can be used in a jar. The output signal is well spread and not focused like some older devices of a similar design. In addition, a full flood of light is visible on the front of the lamp and no "dots" at the positions of the LEDs. I would definitely order them again. They're much simpler and easier to install than the old "can" lights, and the LED design should last for many years (depending on usage). I can't comment on the lifespan of these particular devices, but they all worked. excellent when installed, and does not flicker and fade well. I have no doubts about their recommendation.

Pros
  • πŸ’‘ Super bright. Our 6 inch recessed downlights use new generation LED chips. That's 1050 lumens from just 12W, which is equivalent to a 110W halogen bulb. An LED spotlight can save up to 90% of electricity costs.
Cons
  • unreliable
