Awesome Everyday Hub/External Drive

If you need a USB dongle, why not? When I saw it, I really should have jumped on it. This is the first case I've seen that also has a hub and SD reader. I really thought this would come in handy as I usually carry an external drive and hub with me when I'm traveling to photoshoots, or even as a daily file transfer to and from the office. While it's not as fast as NVME, it's definitely better than a standard hard drive and even a flash drive. There are tradeoffs, but I think it's worth it. It's solidly built, fits my space gray Mac, and is only slightly larger than the average smartphone. Two USB 3 ports are definitely useful, but USB 2 is not. USB 2 works fine if you need to connect a mouse, but personally I think USB 2 is obsolete as it doesn't offer the speed of my faster peripherals. The connection cable comes with a USB-A to USB-C adapter that will definitely come in handy when working with other people who may not have the latest and greatest technology. I'm also getting close to the advertised transfer speeds (see my test photo), which is great, but I know my SSD is over 500MB/s, so I'm a bit disappointed that it's slow. I was really hoping it would be 500MB/s plus. One feature I really would have liked is a USB-C port for power delivery. When I have limited USB-C ports on my MacBook, the power delivery is great.

Pros
  • Multifunctional 6-in-1 USB-C Hub
Cons
  • Not as thick as other models
