Review on 🐠 Efficient Fluval Surface Aquarium Skimmer for Series 05, 06, and 07 Canister Filters by Jessica Brown

I love this skimmer and it does a great job of preventing skinning on my 100 gallon Mbuna tank. I particularly like that there are no extra cleaning sponges (the surface film is drawn into my external filter). However, as other reviewers have mentioned, after about a week of use, the adjustment rod became stuck and it looked like it would break when I tried to force it. To get it working again without breaking I turned the block over and took a standard wide screwdriver and pushed it into the bottom hole of the cylinder rotated by the adjustment rod. After half a turn it broke, and then it was easy to remove the cylinder and the adjusting rod attached to it. I then coated the barrel threads with silicone grease (which I had on hand, petroleum jelly might work too), reinstalled the shaft and after a week of use it's spinning great. So far, so good.
