We spent a lot of time measuring our dog. It was the only coat that fit her unique measurements. We ordered XXL for our 40lb Briquet Griffon Rescue Mix. It ends at the tail, is easy to put on and take off and is very durable. The only thing is that there is no hole for a harness on the back of the coat. But we find we can easily wear her harness over her coat. There is a hole for a collar/leash in the neck area of the coat. I love the soft, warm lining that's waterproof (it stays dry in the rain) and the reflective piping on both sides. We've used it with and without elastics on the rear legs. It definitely stays on when she's out for a walk. As she climbs around the garden, the elastic straps help keep her centered on her back. We are happy with this purchase!
