This item has been coated with dog hair possibly due to testing which would be forgivable if the product works. The material is great, as are most constructions, but as far as fitting it on a dog, it's impossible to pin down. Regarding batteries, put on velcro, for every negative charge there should be a positive. I have two negative sides of the velcro with no positive side to attach.
