On receipt I found the coat was very tight around his neck and chest. The velcro at the neck would detach instantly, and the chest would detach if it were active at all. I have a 49lb dalmatian, I measured him carefully and he fits in the 2XL size range. Chart 2XL says neck to 17 and chest to 27.5, my dog has 15 neck and 27 chest. I contacted the seller and they told me to return the larger size to Amazon. I received size 3XL and while it stays it is clearly too big. 3XL for neck circumference 20 inches and chest circumference up to 30 inches. Plus length jumps from 18 inches to 25 inches. While 2XL was a bit short and didn't cover the back. The 3XL looks weird as it hangs about 3 inches from his back. I appreciate that dogs come in all sizes, but I don't feel like my dog has an unusual shape and none of the suggested sizes fit my dog properly. Sizing aside, the vest is well made, looks good (when it fits) with a reflective stripe. The Velcro could have been better if it had a double back loop as the closure can come loose when active. The hind leg straps didn't fit my dog, he hated them as I've seen others have reported but not sure if they're needed anyway. I'll keep size 3XL until I find something I like better.
