I found that the circuit board could be replaced instead of the entire motor. The swap takes about ten minutes and there is a video to show you how (two screws and one connector). I think of the times when my windshield wipers failed. I had to stop, pop the hood, and bang on the engine with a dowel I kept in Tahoe for that purpose. I could kick myself for not doing it sooner. If your GM truck turns the wipers off by themselves and then turns them back on, get one of these. Your problem is caused by a blown gasket that is leaking water and dripping onto the motor, shorting it out.
