The first thing that struck me right away was that they are a whole size smaller than I normally wear. I usually wear men's 7 or women's 9. Judging by other reviews, I took 9.5. They fit just about, but my fingers have very little flexibility so my fingers feel a bit cramped. To be really comfortable for longer wear I need to go to 10. They came with removable inserts but I didn't use them because they are already too small to start with. Cons: - Thick black rubber. that wrap around your leg gets very hot in direct sunlight. I wore them in the garden in 85Β°F heat and wherever they were covered in black rubber my feet felt like they were under a lightbulb. Think the warmth of hot asphalt, dip your feet into it now. You felt comfortable in the shade - you only breathe from above. So when your feet sweat, your soles and fingers stay sweaty. Pros: - They are good for walking in the garden, in the sense that I can walk on mulch and branches without discomfort, and pebbles don't slip in them like they do in sandals. - They fit well on the foot. You can't slide into them. They definitely don't slip even when wet. The soles are absolutely waterproof. Walking on a damp surface is not a problem. - They are easy to clean. - They seem pretty durable. - I expect they will hold up to long term indoor wear and quite a bit of walking on uneven surfaces. - They are relatively cheap for neutral sandals : - I have two different ankle sizes. Although they stretch enough for my thicker ankle, the cuff tightens a bit. I consider it neutral because they are not marked as optional and they fit perfectly on my standard sized ankle. YMMV.- If you splash water on your feet from above, the water will soak the fabric. This was to be expected. But since they cannot drain, your feet stay wet after they get wet. Keep that in mind when deciding where to wear them. A little rain would be fine, but if you're walking the beach or messing around with a leaking garden hose, your feet will be wet until you take them off. Obviously there is no arch support here - these are sandals. It is in order. They have a thicker layer of rubber on the outsole, probably for cushioning and protection. It's ok but I have a slightly wide foot and they are clearly designed for a narrower foot. I can feel it on the sole of my foot where the thicker padding ends. Strictly speaking, it's not uncomfortable, but I don't associate this feeling with bare feet. Not a negative point versus shoes - just something to watch out for if your feet are a bit wider.
