I have a whippet that is a year and a half old. He can go crazy sometimes and he doesn't like trimming his nails so I gave him a soft chew version of this product. But after we discovered that our pup was allergic to brewer's yeast, we were no longer able to give him chews. Since they helped him relax during his nail care routine, I was dying to find something similar to give him. I know the gum worked because we tried to treat his nails after we stopped giving him gum and barely managed. We jumped and moved everywhere. I ended up buying several other brands of calming pills, but nothing else worked the same way, and all of these chewable pills contained brewer's yeast. I finally found the liquid version of the original chewing gum and bought it immediately. I thought getting him to drink the liquid would be problematic but amazingly he LOVES it! I just pour some into the spoon and he licks it clean. Now when we do his nails he lies quietly on my friend's lap while I quietly nap on his nails. I can say with confidence that this product is perfect for us. And if that bothers you, it's not going to blow my dog's mind or drive him crazy or anything. It just calms him down. I will say it's quite expensive but I think my pup can relax from time to time.
