As a systems engineer, I travel quite a bit and was looking for a medium sized carry-on that could be used as a backpack. All in all, my Swissgear backpack holds more, is easier to reach and is in the same price range. I leave the bag, but this is not a substitute. I really wanted to like it, but the reason for three stars is primarily because of the way you access the contents of the main compartment of the bag. It is limited to a longitudinal zipper. Consider a laptop bag. This isn't very convenient for putting anything other than books or a laptop in a bag. If you plan on putting something else in, be prepared to empty your entire bag to get an item and repack. The carabiner mount looks cool, but since the other end is attached by a button sleeve that detaches with 5 pounds of force, it has little to no value.
