Louder than hell! good for camping and hiking

i teach skydiving and while hollywood would have you believe that it's easy to have a whole conversation in freefall, it's not - 150nm winds an hour is usually pretty noisy. For fun, I started buying all the "magic whistles" that came my way and freefalling them with friends, thinking we could use a simple code for a few things just for us to give a line of communication without requiring direct visibility. I've tried everything - Fuchs 40, Sturm etc. I haven't tried the Hyperwhistle yet because it looked too big and clumsy for me. Eventually I ran out of alternatives, so I ordered one. OK. that thing is loud. Insanely loud. Any reviewer who claims otherwise or compares its volume to any other whistle on Revain at the time of writing is lying. There is no doubt about it. Just point the mouthpiece at the relative wind during the free fall and I think you'll probably hear it on the ISS. NOISY. Serious. Will it ever become a standard part of a skydiver's gear? I do not know. It's still very loud in there, although you can hear it, but it's not loud enough to draw your attention unless you're specifically listening. Now that you are under the canopy you can hear yourself from a very long distance - certainly more than 2 miles!
